    Student Services

We offer a full range of student support services for our geographically dispersed doctoral students. The Program Office provides many of the student service functions that would typically be dispersed among a number of different offices and divisions at a larger university. We believe this 'one-stop shop' provides direct and intimate support for the students. We look forward to providing our students with the best service possible.

    Disability Support Services

The Antioch Ph.D. in Leadership and Change Program offers a welcoming environment for students with disabilities. The Program works with students with disabilities to coordinate and provide accommodations in a timely manner.

To request information, please contact Vickie Nighswander, Registrar and Coordinator of Student Disability Services at 937-769-1360 or by e-mail vnighswander@antioch.edu

    Non-Discrimination Policy

No student shall, on the basis of his/her disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subject to discrimination under any program or activity.  Antioch's Ph.D. in Leadership and Change Program is committed to providing qualified students with a disability an equal opportunity to access the benefits, rights and privileges of university services, programs and activities, in the most integrated setting appropriate to the students’ needs in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

    Student Rights

You have the right to reasonable accommodations if you meet the basic requirements to perform the activities of the program. Institutions of higher education are not required to alter their requirements for either admission or graduation.

You have the right to confidentiality. Information regarding a student's disability will not be released without a student’s permission.

You have the right to appeal any decision made regarding academic accommodations.

    Student Responsibilities

To ensure that needed accommodations are provided, it is the student’s responsibility to:

       * Contact the Coordinator of Student Disability Services  as early as possible so individual needs can be determined
and accommodations can be provided in a timely manner.

       * Provide timely notice and documentation of the nature of the disability and the accommodations requested.   Some
accommodations may require time to arrange. Lack of advance notice may delay the availability of an accommodation.

       * Provide needed additional documentation on the nature and extent of the disability so as to determine
appropriate accommodations. Such documentation may include, but is not limited to: identification of tests
administered, test results, a description of the covered disability and recommended accommodations.

       * Cooperate with Ph.D. Program Staff to develop an appropriate and reasonable accommodation.

       * Arrive on time for meetings with tutors or interpreters and notify tutors or interpreters if you will be late or absent          for meetings or instructional sessions.

       * Coordinate arrangements for tutoring through the Ph.D. Program's Coordinator of Student Disability Services.

       * Notify the Ph.D. Program's Coordinator of Student Disability Services regarding any changes after initial
           accommodations have been determined.

You may be eligible to receive accommodations if you have:

       * A physical, mental or sensory impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities (caring for oneself,        performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning and working)

       * A record of such impairment or an abnormal condition that is medically recognizable or diagnosable.

    Documentation Required to Receive Accommodations

To receive accommodations, professional documentation must be presented from a medical doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, neuro-psychologist or other professional diagnostician. Documentation must be in writing and include a detailed description of the disability including any limitations.
