Enrollment as a new student in the Ph.D. Program is defined as a completed Intent to Enroll Agreement signed by the student, receipt of the student's tuition payment or approved payment plan, and any other required enrollment fees. Enrollment represents a contract between the University and the student. It constitutes an agreement by the student to abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of the University.
The Ph.D. Program uses a continuous enrollment process for continuing students. Upon admission into the Program, students are enrolled for the Ph.D. Year 1. A student in good standing is automatically registered (unless on Leave of Absence) by the Program Office for every upcoming annual academic term and for every quarter-term increments once advanced to Candidacy. It is the student's responsibility to inform the Program if s/he intends to withdraw or change status; otherwise, s/he is re-enrolled and all tuition and fees are due. Notification of withdrawal must be done in writing using a Change of Status Form or via email using the student's FirstClass account.
