Students are required to attend the annual weeklong residency and three weekend residencies each year until they have obtained approved Ph.D. Candidate status. A student making "3-Year Model" academic progress completes this requirement in no less than three full academic years. If a student completes all other program requirements but has missed a residency during this pre-Candidacy period, s/he is required to attend a future residency prior to the completion of the degree.
If a student does not reach Candidacy in three years, the student is expected to participate in the required residencies until Candidacy is met.
